Yes. Indian gold is typically 22 Karat (91.6% pure). In the West, 14K or 18K is
common.
Look for Hallmark: Only buy from BIS Hallmarked jewelers (Tanishq, Malabar
Gold, Kalyan). They guarantee purity.
Making Charges
You pay the "Gold Rate" (per gram) + "Making Charges" (Labor fee). The making charge is where you can negotiate, but the gold rate is fixed daily.
